Qulto was a partner of the conference. Three of our experts ran workshops on topics related to modern tech solutions for libraries and tourism, taught about semantic web and the newest Qulto solution for re-cataloguing and explained how Qulto ecosystem works.
The Occupy Library 2020 online conference was organized on Hopin platform, and for four days hundreds of librarians and NGO representatives from all over the world met and learned from each other. The organizers rose to the occasion and created an amazing space for all library enthusiasts to meet and talk. It is fair to say that the conference was a great success!
These 4 incredible days were breaking through moments! Many interesting presentations and a good atmosphere for discussion and networking had taken place. This is an exciting feeling to watch and listen to directors, librarians, people form associations to share their experience, amazing ideas and projects, which help so many people to survive in the pandemic era and beyond.
International Keynote Speakers, Fab Speakers and moderators came from different parts of the world and always had something interesting to tell. The experts shared their knowledge on how to serve the community by education and bringing the world and knowledge closer to people. One of the librarian's tasks is to teach people how the new technology has changed our lives and how it can help on an everyday basis.
Libraries together with other cultural institutions play a huge role in creating and shaping the society. State institutions, governments and the UE should support and strengthen their positions. I would be tempted to say that our social duty is to support library professionals in their mission. Library it’s not just a place where you can borrow books, it’s people who fight for a better life.
Here you can make an idea how diverse and incredible the speakers and the audience were:
