We provided IT support, project management and RFID tags for the inventory of the University of Pécs between August 2023 and April 2024. The University had previously followed a 3-year rolling inventory methodology, so the challenge was to organise the transition from this. To give a sense of the scale of the work at a numerical level: 307,000 items, 80 departments (10 faculties, Clinical Centre, several other autonomous departments), 260 buildings.

The highly complex task was solved by a division of labour within the group, with Avantázs Ltd. providing the organisational and project management tasks and our partner SmartFreq Ltd. supplying the RFID tags. Monguz IT support was required throughout the entire process, from preparation, to taking inventory, tracking progress, and then during the evaluation of the census to ensure successful completion.

In line with PTE’s internal rules and local conditions, the PTE Inventory Ticket Archive application was prepared for IT support. The solution enabled access/download of inventory tickets and related data through a single, online interface after authenticated login, thus significantly reducing the paper-based administration associated with the inventory process.
