Further development of a literary tourism initiative through crowdsourcing
Volunteers are wanted for crowdsourcing initiative
We are looking for enthusiastic readers who, as lovers of Hungarian literature, would be willing to upload real-life locations related to literary works – through plot, author or character – based on their reading experiences, to a central knowledge database .
The most active user will be rewarded with an e-book reader!
Our LiteraTúra app is a cultural initiative that has become a special project for the Qulto team with time, and we do hope you will also see the public good in it and become part of the community data enrichment.
Web and mobile
The LiteraTúra online platform has been created as a tool for uploading to the central knowledge network, allowing you to contribute to the database of real-life sites related to literary works.
The LiteraTúra mobile application guides users to the uploaded sites – while wandering in new places, making trips, excursions and taking walks, it highlights literary sites nearby, new and interesting destinations for all those interested in literature.
For readers
Why?
If you are excited by the opportunity and want to contribute to the content of the app based on your own reading experiences, be part of the initiative, register!
Be part of a collaborative effort where content uploaded by participants is linked to registered users – add as many locations as you can, and others will see that the suggestion came from you. Who will register the most content?
Share with others, through your literary experiences, the interesting places that are worth visiting on a hike or sightseeing tour, for a quality leisure time!
What?
We are looking for literary works (novels, possibly short stories) by Hungarian authors and precisely identifiable locations – preferably in the Carpathian Basin. However, we don’t mean a city or a part of a city in the case of the app, but much more specific locations – the name of a well-known inn, restaurant, spa, etc. Can you recall any of these in your readings?
For libraries
Why?
Nowadays, in addition to providing physical documents and information, online accessibility and keeping up with new expectations are also important tasks for libraries. We believe that this call is a good opportunity to address an important issue to their readers, and that this initiative can be used as a tool for community building, indirectly contributing to the cultural life of a local community and directly promoting reading, as well as reusing the cultural values and knowledge that libraries aim to transmit.
How?
Everyone has a competitive spirit – so why not collectively encourage participants to enter more and more exciting locations in the app? Institutions can even reward the most active readers with small gifts and surprises. A voucher? Membership fee waiver? Family discount? These all could motivate user activity.
