Qulto Repo is a publishing repository based on the open source DSpace 7 software, which has gained popularity in recent years, especially among public education and public collections institutions. Its popularity has been mainly due to its relative ease of use, customisability and operability.

Repository implementations aim at providing a repository for uploaded media (text documents, images, videos, audio files – mainly non-proprietary content). The service platform is usually the open access catalogue of the public collection (OPAC3). If required, some repositories can be used independently (e.g. DSpace, EPrints), as well. With this module, your institution can manage its digital content with ease. All content can be associated with standard descriptive elements that facilitate searchability and ensure interoperability between different systems. Our solution also supports full-text indexing and search to ensure maximum accessibility and searchability.

In addition to the basic DSpace digital object repository functionality, Qulto Repo has add-ons such as media playback implemented by Qulto developers, record cloning and movement between collections, and Qulto Annotate for group annotation and tagging of PDF documents.

Qulto Digitize is a mass digitisation framework that provides solution for public collections, the general public and individual users as well for collaborative processing, grouping and repository management of text and image content. The main advantage of the framework is that it eliminates the need for both the use of other software and applications, and the cumbersome movement of files to be processed. Besides, it enables multi-user workflows.

Our module allows you to create, register, manage and share digital assets and their associated metadata with broad range of audiences. Furthermore, it also provides secure storage of master files, creation of on-demand converted versions, optical character recognition (OCR), watermarking and digital rights management (DRM) of files.

We support the digitisation of books, journals and analogue copies with workflows that make the collaborative work of consortium members transparent. Our system also provides a tool to manage the division of labour and the sharing of income and costs. Digitize is able to export and import METS-compliant digital objects and their metadata; we support digitisation processes with character recognition software; and detailed digitisation allows users to create independent e-documents from pieces of complete works. We can also record legal information and provide digital protection (DRM) for the works. Our system includes native, master and original files, the latter being generated automatically.

Groups of people working with digital objects – let them be university work groups, teachers, e-learning professionals or researcher – need an online platform where they can work on packages of files together in a way that will require them to move those files as infrequently as possible.

Discovery

Posted on: February 7th, 2022 by akovacstapai

A product that supports the professional work of libraries and higher education institutions, and can be used to effectively support the search activities of readers, students, teachers and researchers.

Do you need a solution for searching a common index of multiple data sources (catalogs, repositories, online databases, etc.)? Discovery provides a common online interface to search library catalogs, full-text repository content, research data, online articles, e-publications and eLearning materials. The Discovery catalog can be customised in the same way as public collections’ own catalogs, i.e. results from multiple sources are organised into a common list of results based on common relevance, which can be sorted and filtered together.

The information search facilities are complemented by patron features (e.g. renewals, reservations, etc.) and a researcher dashboard (subject tracking, bibliographic lists, and so on).

Qulto SimilR is a software for finding text similarities between text documents, which can be hosted locally or as a cloud service.

Its core task is to index theses held by higher education institutions and other scientific content available to us for comparison. The comparison is based on measuring similarities between sections and paragraphs of a document.

We can use the automated comparison of documents to automatically identify suspected cases of plagiarism. The software generates a preliminary report on cases above the tolerance threshold, which can be used in the evaluation and decision-making processes. The document to be detected can be uploaded to a central web interface, which is then also used to view the results. Institutional content is processed locally, avoiding the copyright problems typically encountered by plagiarism detection tools. Our innovative business model also generates revenue for the collaborating stakeholders (institutions) based on the frequency of use of their relevant documents.

It allows multiple institutional and individual users to perform simultaneous analyses on individual, shared and web corpora. In addition, Qulto SimilR offers the possibility of customising the analysis and filtering parameters, taking into account the specificities of the texts in terms of genre, form and subject

By using SimilR, documents in Hungarian, protected by institutional and copyright law, will not be stored on foreign servers or owned by foreign companies.

Recommended for the work of higher education institutions, academics and students, professionals and doctoral students, content producers and content providers.

Main features

The software underwent a minor upgrade in 2022, making its interface more simple, clear and user-friendly.

Qulto eCard mobile application, available in 5 different languages (Hungarian, English, Romanian, Serbian and Slovakian),  aims to make as many ‘library issues’ as possible accessible, transparent and manageable in one place. The application is suitable for managing multiple reader’s cards at the same time, thus offering an easy-to-use, user-friendly solution for cases where one is a registered user of several libraries, but also for cases where the user wants to view and manage the cards of his family members together in one application.

Users can manage their library transactions, such as renewals, reservations, checking deadlines and debts, on their own mobile phones. The app also sends notifications of due deadlines. As a convenience, they can also use the ‘Libraries’ feature to see on the embedded map which library is closest to them. In some libraries, you can also use the patron’s card displayed in the app as a virtual patron’s card to enter the library.

As of today, readers of 163 institutions using Qulto Library integrated library system has the opportunity to handle their library-related issues with the help of eCard mobile app.

We are proud to inform you that our company has completed a relevant project for the Academy of Music in Łódź in the framework of the “Maintenance and Revitalization of Cultural Heritage” program.

The primary goal of creating the game is to present the renovated and restored interiors of Charles Poznański Palace, which is owned by the Academy of Music in Łódź. The game was funded by EEA and Norway Grants, and was translated into three languages: Polish, English and Norwegian. It is available only for desktop PC-s.

3D model scanning technology has been used in the course of the work. Our company cooperated with a Polish firm, ArchiTube, that was responsible for scanning the building and specific rooms, where the main plot of the game takes place. Source images have been provided in excellent quality in order to guarantee improved user experience.

The main mission of the game is to find Grażyna Bacewicz’s missing sheet music hidden somewhere in the palace. Players have the opportunity to move around the place freely, enjoy and admire the beautiful interior of the palace and its rooms, discover and get to know the history of the place and people. During the journey, you can find some quizes and puzzles awaiting to be solved. In each room, a treble clef is waiting for you with a question. All questions are related to music and history, and not necessarily easy. So be prepared to use your brain! After giving a correct answer, you can discover the place further, and get closer and closer to finding the sheet. The game also offers some adventures for you, too – you can meet a good ghost, who warns you about a bad ghost prowling in the palace, and with whom you have to quiz fight at the end of the game. After giving five correct answers, you get a key, which opens the place with the hidden sheet music.

The project was finished in December 2016, so we hope it will not only be a source of fun, but also some good lesson of history!
